Aches or Pains

Including most muscle-skeletal conditions, coulee rheumatoid or osteoporosis-arthritis or simply pain effecting individual joints such as back ache, frozen shoulder, tennis or golfers elbow, or wrist, hip, knee or ankle pain. Acupuncture can be helpful for pain that is short or long term, chronic or acute, including headaches, migraines and fibromyalgia.

Mental or emotional pain and conditions

This is a different type of pain that is experienced by all of us at some point in our lives.  You could be feeling depressed, maybe you have anxiety or are living with panic attacks. Quite often you may just feel despairing, or unable to cope with daily activities. Acupuncture can help you to stabilise these feelings and help you back to good mental health. Many patients visit Lynne during a transitional period in their life which is causing them emotional pain, this could be a breakup, grieving of a loved one, or when children leave home.

Sometimes, emotional pain is felt after the onset of physical pain. Acupuncture can assist with treating both types of pain and is helpful for assessing the root cause of both.

Physical Problems

Acupuncture has been found to have therapeutic benefits for a very broad range of conditions. These can relate to specific areas of the body, both internal and external. For example, you may suffer from a digestive condition, maybe you have IBS or IBD. Circulatory conditions, urinary problems, eye, lung and heart conditions, as well as thyroid disorders, can all benefit from acupuncture.

Acute infections and viral conditions

Acute illnesses have a dramatic and sudden onset and quite often have severe symptoms, although they may have a shorter duration than other illnesses. Coughs and colds are common illnesses, as well as ear and eye infections. Maybe you have had a viral infection and are now having symptoms during your recovery period.  Acupuncture can help, through relaxing the body and increasing the energy flow, leading to a reduction in the symptoms experienced.

Severe and long-term chronic illness

This can include life threatening illnesses. As an example, for patients currently undergoing western treatment for cancer or kidney disease, acupuncture can assist with the relief of symptoms from your illness. Acupuncture can also help with degenerative conditions such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, motor neurone disease and muscular dystrophy. Acupuncture is not an alternative to western treatment for the listed conditions; however it can be practiced alongside your current treatment plan. It is advisable to consult with your doctor before your initial consultation.

Lynne has helped me when I have had terrible lower back pain. I have experienced both acupuncture needles and cupping. The cupping treatment left me feeling hugely relaxed and a lot more mobile. I’d recommend it to any one looking for treatment of back pain.
